Friends!!! Before we go for weblogic installation and configuration, lets understand something which is very important when you want to simulate LINUX on WINDOWS System.
Nothing to worry!!!! If you do not have a system with Linux Operating system,You can configure VMWARE WORKSTATION and on top of it you can install Linux or any other OS of your choice. In our case, We are installing ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX 5.6.
STEPS:

5. Click on "Create New Virtual Machine" Under "File" Menu, Select "Typical" and click on "Next"

6. Next screen appears as below. Here, Select the radio button "Installed disk image file (iso):" and click on the "Browse" button to select the iso image of OEL 5.6 you have downloaded and saved in your windows PC.

Screen after clicking browse appears as below:

Double click on the ISO image of the OS and click on "Next"
7. Leave the fields unchanged in the next screen and click on "Next"

8. In the next screen provide the size of your virtual disk (make sure the size you are allocating is available in the drive you have chosen)
9. Click on "Next" and the "Finish" button.
10. Press ENTER in below screen
11. Click on "Skip"

12. Click on "Next"

13. Select "English" and click on "Next" in the next screen
14. Click "Next" on the screen, which opens below page:

Click on "YES" in this screen. It will format the disk space and allocate the space to your LINUX OS.
15. In the next screen select "Create Custom Layout" and click on "Next"

16. In this screen, You need to create the necessary file systems needed for your OS and also the mount point for your software installation.

17. click on "New" and create mount points ( /, /boot, /home, /tmp )

NOTE: for "/" partition, please allocate more than 5 GB space

NOTE: Please allocate 2+ gb to /boot



NOTE: SWAP is very important component and its size should be the double of the memory allocated to the VM.
NOTE: The below screen is one where you are creating your filesystem on which you will be ding the practice, that is mount point called /u01

Now, your screen looks like this, which summarizes your disk allocation:

18. click "Next"

19. Click on "Edit"

20. Uncheck "Enable IPV6 Support" and Check "Enable IPV4 Support" and then click on the radio button "Manual Configuration" and assign IP and Net mask as in the screen below:

click on "Ok"
21. Under the "Hostname" Section click on the radio button "Manually" and provide the following information, and click on "Next"

22. Select the time zone:

23. Set root password (root is the super user of the OS having all permissions)

24. Check the check box "Software Development" and click on Radio Button " Customize Now" then click on "Next"

25. Select each option in the left panel and with respect to that select all optional packages in the right side panel. Once done for all the options, click on "Next"

26. Click on "Next"

27. t starts formatting the filesystems and then begin with installation process (same can be seen in the next 2 screens respectively):


NOTE: Depending upon the number of packages the installation time will vary.
Upon completion the screen looks as below:

28. Upon reboot of server follow below screens:

There will be situations when you need to access the files/folders available in your windows drive (D/E....), So I will be explaining yiu the same in this section that how easily you can access the files/folders from windows into your LINUX VM.
